Museum After Dark: Agnes Martin at the Guggenheim Museum

Agnes Martin at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Open until January 11, 2017
I recently graduated from Columbia University, and as an alumn I now get to attend many great alumni events. The most recent event was a reception then tour of the Agnes Martin show at the Guggenheim Museum. Our tour took place at 7:30pm, an hour and 45 minutes after the museum had closed so the only guests were the Columbia alumni and there were not too many of us. The museum was so peaceful, it was a great atmosphere to experience the Agnes Martin exhibition.

Agnes Martin was an abstract painter often described as a minimalist painter. Most of the work in this exhibition is geometric and line-based, soft muted colors are used throughout.  The best word I can think of to describe the artwork is gentle.

Check out the serene images below. (all photos taken by me)
