The New York Botanical Garden

A couple weekends ago I went to the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) in the Bronx to check out the ready-to-bloom corpse flower.
While the flower didn't actually bloom while I was there, it was still great to visit the botanical gardens as I had never been. The NYBG had a live feed set up to watch the corpse plant at any time so I still got to see it bloom although not in person. Perhaps it was better to watch it via camera as it's suppose to smell REALLY bad.
The flower is huge, the brown crinkled leaf seen above was about the size of my head or slightly bigger.
It was too late into the summer to see most flowers blooming but the cacti were great!
It was an incredibly bright and sunny day which was great for photos but I was really really hot. The only place to cool down was the cafe but we went to see plants not ice coffees so I had to sweat and deal with it. PS. I hate being hot!
