New Years in New York

My first post of the new year! Welcome to 2016 with HeyShelissa.

I spent New Year's Eve with my bf, sister, and brother-in-law here in New York City. I never do much planning for my New Year's Eve events, there always seems to be something going on however this year I was completely plan-less!

On Dec 30th took my sister and bro-in-law to check out the Times Square ball before the madness on New Year's Eve. I normally avoid Times Square as it's crazy busy, but I find that late at night it's the perfect experience for someone visiting New York for the first time.
The small glowing ball towards the top of the photo below is the ball that drops New Year's Eve. (Kind of disappointing!)

I also took my sister for a stroll near Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree and we also managed to see a fancy light show at Saks Fifth Avenue.

It was a fun night of walking around the city and hanging out at my sister's midtown hotel, I enjoyed bringing in the new years with family in my city.
Happy new year! 2015 was great and I can feel that 2016 is going to be another exciting one!
